Help File & Instructions for Use

  • To access the system - enter your username and password in the box provided on the LOGIN page and select a category of abstracts you wish to grade
  • A connection will be established with the database on the server (hence you must be online and stay online whilst grading).
  • You will be presented with any system messages first - PLEASE read them.
  • Your are then presented with a table containing the abstracts, listing part of the title, the abstract ID, whether or not the abstract is to be considered for the various prizes and your current score for the abstract
  • At any time you can go back and change your score
  • Click on the title of the abstract and it will take you to a page where the full (but anonymised) abstract is displayed
  • Your current score for this abstract is also displayed (the default value is zero).
  • Please take careful note of the type of submission (highlighted in red) as oral, poster, or both
  • At the bottom of the screen there is a drop down box allowing you to grade the abstracts between 1 (poor) and 10 (excellent). If you know that you are involved in the abstract being displayed then please grade it as zero (this is then taken out when considering the overall score).
  • When you have selected your grade for the abstract click on the 'Add this score for abstract' button next to the drop down box.
  • You will be taken to a confirmation page to say that the grade has been added for the abstract. Zero grades are not added as this is already the default value.
  • Please click on the 'Back to abstract list' button to take you back to your chosen list of abstracts
  • You can go back to ANY abstract you have previously graded and change the mark.
  • If you need support for this system then please use the 'Get support' link
