Referrals must be made either through a General Practitioner or another hospital doctor at the referring hospital. You can request to see me specifically other than another consultant surgeon when being referred by your GP or another hospital doctor. With the forthcomiing introduction of the 'choose and book' system for NHS outpatient referrals you will be given a choice of 5 different clinics (some at different hospitals) you can attend. It is your right to choose which of the 5 clinics you wish to attend. All relevant details of your medical condition and the results of any investigations undertaken should be included.
